2018 was the first year of #TheSandy and we were absolutely flooded with nominations for so many incredible females around the country. Some in remote desert towns and some high corporate positions. Coaches, tour-guides, surf shop owners, surf mums, magazine editors, brand managers and sport administrators were just some of the people nominated.
After careful consideration and an outstanding amount of detailed nominations, the 2018 SANDY was awarded to Manly local, Linda Goodwin for her work with a grass-roots female surfing community Surf Girls Australia. An outstanding amount of people wrote in to nominate Linda with very detailed descriptions of how Linda continuously went out of her way to help so many in the surf community. There was an overwhelming level of genuine respect from the local community. A well deserved winner. Congratulations Linda.
